07 aftermarket stereo help
07 aftermarket stereo help
Hey everyone! Last October I installed a BOSS touch screen double din stereo with a backup camera. Just last night I was sitting in the parking lot at work listening to music before going in. This morning when I start my car the radio won't even come on or light up. I ended up disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it, and it came back on. Everything is installed correctly.
Is it jus the unit itself? I've read alot of reviews that BOSS audio isn't the greatest and that similar things happen.
No other issues with the car, it worked great until now .

If everything else is working, and the thing fixed itself after removing power, and all the wiring and such is in order... yes, it's just that BOSS, which seems like it isn't anymore, and should now be called EMPLOYEE or something.
Sounds like either the programming (for lack of a better term?) went whack and needed to be hard reset. Or there was a power event and it went into circuit breaker protection mode which requires a hard reset too. Both of these happen in PCs, and the fix is to turn the PC off, take out the power from the back, turn it on even though it's not powered to drain the capacitors and make the thing truly off, then plug it back in and turn it on. Tada, computer's good to go. Like that. Happens after storms, even with a surge protector/battery backup sometimes. I'm thinkin' this concept is in your EMPLOYEE.
If it happens again, you might wanna chase down the issue... or just get something else. IDK, I'm still running a stock Shaker 500.
Hope that helps, good luck!
