I had an opportunity today to drive a brand new 06 GT equipped identically to my 05. My biggest complaint on my car was the suspension noises when driving on less than perfect roads. The suspension has a heavy clunking sound front and rear. What a difference in the 06, there is much, much less noise, almost close to none. My GT has 15000km and sounds like a lumber wagon inside. Is it just my car or have they really quieted the suspension?

My 05's suspension sounds heavy like yours also. Smooth roads, it's ok, but our roads here have been beaten by winter frost and repaired with a gravel/tar machine which leaves about 1/2" to 1" rises at each pothole repaired. Everytime I hit one of those it sounds and feels like it's tearing the car apart. I'm definately going to have to test drive an 06 GT and see if the suspension is anybetter. If it is, as you say, I'm going to check out the part number differences from the two model years to see if a change up has occurred. Maybe our suspension bushing materials are too hard for street use.

I haven't made the comparison, but I do know that tires generally get harder and noiser with age, and this would help the 06 appear to be quieter and smoother.

I have only driven 2 06 GT's and they both have noisy suspensions. The 06 I bought seems noisier when starting out with everything cold, and gets quieter after a few miles each day.
