Q. How many Mustangs were made in 1995?
A. 86,379 Coupes; 18,593 Convertibles; 47,088 GT Coupes; 16,668 GT Convertibles; 6,370 GTS Coupes; 4,005 Cobra Coupes; 1003 Cobra Convertibles; 250 Cobra “R†Coupes
I know the Cobra numbers are correct because I got those numbers years ago from SVT.
They do keep track of the numbers. Thats how they can kind of plan what they will need in the way of parts for the next year among other reasons.

Why does it take Ford so long to get production certificates out to SVT owners? I know I had to wait about year to get mine.

The reason they wait until production ends is they don't know just how many they will end up making. They may set a goal but usually will make some less or more depending on the market and how many left over parts they may have.

Just an FYI: We're mixing 2 subjects here in this thread. Sales and production #s.
Ford made (160,412) 2005 mustangs.
In the 2005 calender year, Ford sold 160,975. This number includes 2004, 2005, and 2006 mustangs sold between 1 Jan 05 and 31 Dec 05.
