06 GT Convertable
06 GT Convertable
I know of a 2006 mustang GT Premium with 4000 miles, all options, never been driven in the rain, still has the plastic on the door sills. Hard to find a nicer one. What I am trying to find out is what is this car really worth. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Thanks
what color is it? Where is it located? <----- just wondering. have you looked at kelly blue book or seen what some of the asking prices are on autotrader.com? Of course something with that few miles on it is going to be worth a few dollars more.

Yeah, there are 'premiums' involved with ultra low mileage cars like that. I'm talking cars under 10,000 miles. The price guides are not able to price these cars accurately (too few) but from what I've seen over the many years of buying and selling cars like these, you would expect to pay a $3,000+ premium over book for a one owner, stock, 'near showroom' ride. If this criteria is not true, then regular book pricing is close enough.
For instance, in my zip code, an excellent condition 'private party' sale for an '06 GT 'vert with very low miles would be around $23,000. An owner asking $26,000 would be within reason. Hopefully he would take a bit less and anything less would be a fine deal for the buyer as well. Where can you get a basically new Mustang GT 'vert for that kind of money??
Below link is an example of what to expect. The owner probably would take $26,000. If you are going after the car you have seen, best of luck!!

I paid 26500+tax for my 06 hard top new. You should have a little bargining power of course start out low and go from there. There is a vert in the for sale section here you should see has some nice well done mods. I would take that one over the one yer looking at
rigwood,
I bought an 06 GT Vert a month ago. It's black with tan interior and top. It was completely stock and had 84K on it and only one owner. This is normal at about 12K per year. My only issue with it was the paint on the hood but that's common to these cars. For some reason the paint doesn't adhere well to the aluminum.
All said I paid $13,000 plus tax and tags. The dealer tried to hit me up for $900 in dealer prep fees but I said "no way. This car was taken as a trade so you paid wholesale for it and are selling it for retail. Prep is already included in the price so no way." The salesperson actually agreed with me, he said most people don't argue that because they aren't educated.
A month later I'm still extremely satisfied with the car and I don't care about the hood because I wanted a ram air hood anyway. Already added a strut tower brace, hood strut kit, CAI and Diablo inTune and a styling bar.
Good luck,
Alex

Four months ago I bought a 2007 gt vert with 7k, one owner, stock and near perfect. I paid $20k. Completely satisfied and very happy with my deal. That was from a dealership and included shipping, 300 miles. I think I got a super deal.
Thanks for the input guys. ARBO, it looks like you got a really good deal. I have done the normal research with ebay, trader, etc and prices seemed to vary quite a bit, especially between NADA and KBB. I work with the guy and he wants me to sell the car for him because he doesn't want to mess with it, don't know anything about computers, etc. I would get anything over a certain amount so I was trying to get a realistic idea from people that are in the 'family' and know what these should go for. I was thinking it could be a 23k car.

Even with the super low miles, it's still a 7 year old car. I think $26K would be unreasonable.
Goldenpony is right, unless it's a rare car there's no way you would get that much for a 7 year old car when there are so many available. Although not with that mileage. 26K is probably close to what the car was when it was new and everyone knows once you drive a car off the lot it instantly depreciates. MSRP was 31K and invoice was 28K but remember a car is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.
Good luck,
Alex
