This will be my 2nd (91GT). There have been three others in the family over the years(67 w/289, a 90 LX coupe and a 99 v6).

i never really fell in love with anything after 1970...

so my original plan was to get a 60's era stang!

however, my grandfather wasnt too pleased with that notion.

now we can both win with the 2005 redesign

Yeah, I'm with you sikander! I never liked anything after 1970 either.

Go test drive a Mustang, you'll like it!

My first Mustang was a 65 V8- Auto I bought from a body repair place in 68. No Traction - No Brains, Ah, Those Were The Days!

I have wanted another one and fiqured I better get it while I still had enough mental capacity to fiqure out a shift pattern.

The 05 with its clean, simple lines and the "retro look" told me it was "Now or Never" Will order within the next 2-3 weeks

This is probably my 25th Mustang. I currently own the following:
My 2005 GT I've had 1 week, 1992 Vibrant Red Conv., 1992 5.0 LX Conv., 2-1994 Pace Cars (1 w/ 38 Miles, never been dealer prepped), 1964 1/2 Coupe (I bought new and still have). Previously owned, 65 Coupe, 3-67 Convertibles, 65 GT HiPo Coupe, 66 GT HiPo Coupe, 3-66 HiPo GT Conv., 66 HiPO GT Fastback, 70 Conv, 73 Conv., 93 Ltd Ed Yellow Conv. The 2005 is by far the best one of the group. Ford really got it right. I hope their marketing follows thru.
A trip from Phila area to Washington, DC last weekend was interesting. People either had no idea or they were falling out of their cars to give me a thumbs up. I even had one guy follow me into the driveway to check it out. The quality, fit and finish are fantastic. The performance exceeds all expectations.

Yea- First I personally owned. Grew up with em(Garden variety 65-68s, a mach1, one of those fugly 1978 ones).
For my after punishment for totalling my parents car car my Dad bought me a 1979 Cobra. He blew the motor the first night trying to teach me to drive a stick(it was 3 speed I recall). Never got behind the wheel on it before it went to car hades.
So:
I have had
1981 Camaro-Midnight blue
1989 Sun something or nother by plymouth Sundance? red
1992 Sunbird black
1994 Ranger blue
1995 Elantra black
1995 Neon X2(one white 4 door, totalled by an old biddy who couldn't realize red means stop, and a green sport)
1986 Bronco
and my 1999 General Mistake Alero. white

Must have Mustang- saw 2 door concept loooong time ago, decided that second that oh yes it would be mine. Noticed- RELEASE 5/04, started my quest(even lived through the arriving in August fun too). Ended up here, spent the summer going nuts for it, so far have spent the fall giving salesmen grey hair everywhere. Will have by the time the weather gets pleasant again.
I have never loved a car as I love this one. Never wanted a car before, its always been something to drive. :worship: :worship:

Yup this is my first one too. I am trading my BMW in for it. I have had too many problems with my 2002 325i and when I saw this car and drove it, I knew it was the car for me. Now I just have to wait 6-8 weeks...

I am 38 and this will be my first Mustang, first RWD, V8, 2 door car.

I have always loved Mustangs. I have Mustang posters, metal tins and 20 1:18 scale Mustang diecast models. I have stacks of Mustang magazines and regularly visit the dealership lots and car shows. I could never decide on my favorite body stlye. Now I know that the car of my dreams had not yet been built.

The things that sold me on this car are:
1) styling: inspired by the '60s classics inside and out.
2) power: 300 hp V8 with almost the same fuel economy as the V6 and it runs on regular!
3) saftey: repositioned fuel tank inside saftey cage, forward tilting head rest, front and side curtain air bags, traction control and ABS.
4) quality: made in the same plant as the Mazda 6.
5) price: less expensive than building a resto-mod (classic car with modern mechanicals and saftey features)

I have been sketching drawings of mustangs for decades now. This is the one car that I have been dreaming of. Thanks to this web site, I know that I am not the only one obsessed with this car.

As soon as my wife's car is paid for I will get a Silver Mustang GT. At last there is light at the end of the tunnel. B)

I have never owned a Mustang.

I have never even been in a Mustang - let alone driven one. I touched the window of one I saw at a local dealer - I did that just to tell myself "well at least you have touched a Mustang now".

I have been in the tank - business wise - personal wise for a good while.

I am self employed - looking for some kind of motivation - something to smile/think about.

I had been trying to use a new Corvette for motivation - but I like the C5 better than the C6.

I like the '05 Mustangs better than the <04 cars. The fact that I like the new Stangs better and like the "old" Vettes better and the cost of the Stang is more realistic to me at least now.

I had tons of cool cars in my past life - nothing cool for several years. Three in college all the same time - rotten business climate - down in the dumps etc.

A white with red Mustang is now my "carrot" to try to jerk my head out of the doledrums (try to ignore the bad econ) - get my dobber up and get going again.

The motivator had to be something that was "cool" to me. The new Mustangs have that "cool" factor that is going to be necessary.

Go Mustang

What problems? I have an 2004 M3 and its been flawless. [/b][/quote]
It's been all wiring and computer diagnostics for the most part...let's see, here is a list of problems:
4 Seperate tail light malfunctions, each with a dealer visit and rent a car production
CD Player volume control stuck and stopped working
3 seperate tire blow outs
Air conditioner blew out spewing smoke on me
Mysterious crack in windshield spread like wildfire through the window
On all four rims, the alloy started peeling off of for no reason
Traction control wiring harness fried twice
Among other things...most of this stuff is covered under warranty, but I was just sick of wasting all of my time going in and out of the dealership to get this crap fixed!!!
