I looked through the threads and couldn't find one with the answer I am looking for. Please let me know if I missed it.

My dealership had originally received an ETA of 10/12 for my car to come it. Now, three weeks later, my delivery status changed from "shipped convoy" to "waiting for final inspection"???? I have no clue what this means or why it would change like that. Any ideas?

Thanks for the help. I have gotten A LOT of information from this site. Excellent work Brad and everyone.

I ordered it back in June, the 17th I think. That last digits of my VIN are 0826. So I would think it would have been built and shipped already. It is a Satin Silver GT, 5-speed, red leather, IUP...

Stangman, what is your source? Do you work at AAI?

Not trying to be a smartass, but I would assume it means "waiting for final inspection"

there has been alot of people talking about the early ordered cars being held back for some reason, but all of this is just speculation. I don't think there has been any definitive answer.

Trust me...Ford wants you to have your car ALMOST as much as you want it.

After going to the fordvehicleprograms.com website, i've found out i need your full address. I know this stinks even more for the ones who are worried about their personal info, but i don't make the ford rules.

Also, i'm really trying to limit this to people who are getting there cars in the next couple of weeks, and preferably people who don't currently own a ford.I don't want a bunch of pins up in limbo. that could create a hassle for me.

like i said in the original post i'm trying to get as many people at my plant to 'donate' their pins. Problem is i work at the wayne assembly plant and we're laid off til the week of thanksgiving, so thing'll go slow for a while. The bright side is we have about 3000 hourly employees at our plant and about 6000 in our local 900. I'd bet 95% of xplans go unused here, because so many people in the detroit area are elligible for aplan. Hopefully we can mobilize and welcome a bunch more people to the ford family.

I just spoke to my dealer and he said that AAI has built just under 11,000 stangs, but only shipped about 1,600. Of those remaining, ones built between 10/18 and 10/26 received a faulty dimmer switch. So they have to get the new switches in, then replace the faulty ones. Also, Ford ships "first in, last out". So mine (being number 0826) is sitting in the back of the lot with about 9,000 or so in front of it waiting to be shipped. He also said that there is a shortage of rail cars, so they can't ship out the ones that are ok as soon as they want.

He also mentioned there is a delay on the V6's and V8's with autos, that they are slowing production on these. Mine is a manual, so I don't have to worry about this. Hope this info helps anyone else understand why they also haven't received theres.
