Female here. Currently only able to swing the v6 because I already have a car. To get the GT where I want it, I would need over 10K and or get rid of the olds.
I want more that anything the GT. Especially after yesterday when Hubby saw them both for the first time(I don't drag him on my car hunts) and informed me the V6 looked "sad" like it was missing something. He wouldn't even drive it because he said he didn't want to like it and not be able to drive it home.
Oh and also, side by side the v6 sounds like a Honda compared to the Gt. Alone, its just fine.

The insurance difference in Alberta between the two models is $100.00. I have had two mustangs todate both have had V6 engines which I find have plenty of power for normal road driving. When I mentioned to friends that I have ordered the new 2005 Mustang V6 the majority of them scoffed at me for not wanting a V8. First of all I can't see the need to spend an additonal $8500.00 for an extra 90 horsepower. Secondly according to all the reports that are out such as Motor Trend the new V6 is quite peppy and speed performance is not a problem so why get a V8. Where is a major city would you use a V8 other than at the local speed way on street legal Fridays? Lastly we have a problem with idiot drivers in Edmonton that cannot handle normal driving in normal automobiles, the idea of a bunch of irresponsible nutbars in 300 horsepower GT's is not a comforting thought. Just imagine a driver of a 300 horsepower mustang using a cell phone coming up to a red light (not good) and that happens a lot in Edmonton, Alberta. We also have a dedicated group of police officers willing to give out yellow certificates with accumulating financial amounts in little boxes on the lower right side of the ticket. The faster you go the more you pay. Personally I think that the Mustang V6 is plenty of power for the average driver. I don't think the resale between a V6 & V8 is going to be much different either. Lots of folks think the resale on a V8 is better, I don't share that opinion.

I'm getting the V6 solely because I couldn't afford the GT. The insurance wouldn't have been a problem, just the MSRP. So if this car becomes a babe magnet, once they see what I'm packin', will size matter?

I'm a male and I'm getting the V-8 and manual transmission. I like the growl and torque of a V-8 engine and I need the quickness and agility to stay outta the way of the morons around here that couldn't drive themselves out of a wet paper sack.

I'm female and I'm buying a V6 in February 2005. I can't afford a GT anyway(I'm only 18, about to turn 19 in December) and my insurance company(AAA) won't let me get a GT until I'm 23 ... so yeah ...
