coupes are better for 3412351 reasons. they dont have an extra 500 pounds on them due to the crap put on the verts, you dont get body flex, and there cheaper

no no you are all wrong
the guy driving the vert is only mad because his vert doesn't look as good as the coupe.
or maybe cause he has to give it back or maybe cause it is snowing and he has to have the top up

I have owned two verts and am considering a third. However, I have short hair and live in soCal, so it is a different experience for me. I actually had to keep a "hair kit for women" in the car to get them to go anywhere with the top down (hats, scarves, clips, that sort of thing). But they all enjoyed the ride once their hair was taken care of.
But, the road noise can be annoying, and the wind really makes listening to the radio or having a conversation out of the question. So, it is more of a one-person cruise thing. But, definitely a great time!
I do really like the personality of the new coupe though.
Decisions, decisions.........

I prefer the looks of the coupe to the vert and if they ever make one in DHG I'll be sorely tempted. Meanwhile I'll continue to drive my vert. Oh, and it's just fine in the winter, thanks to that great Ford heater. It's been below 0 here in the mornings and it doesn't take long to warm up.
Let's face it. Either you're a ragtop kind of person or you're not. Thankfully, we have choices.

I've had 2 verts in the past. Been a loong time since I had one. There is nothing like driving a vert except motorcycle riding. Top down is a whole other experience.
I am in NJ now, and survived winters in a 1970 VW Beetle vert with NO heat and a crappy top that didnt even seal right. I got snow IN my car with the top UP...
In other words, I dont have any worries about vert tops built nowadays after surviving that thing.
Then again, I plan on moving to San Diego in a few months, so I will be getting the vert. Cant wait!!!

well if it was a 04 mustang then it would have been a rag top for me it looks much better than the coupe .But the 05 with the classic fast back lines in the coupe just look better than the vert in 05 IMO and was a must have over the convertible.
Either way 2 great looking stang for 05 no matter what you pick

I Own/Owned 3 Verts and in '05 or '06 it will be 4. I live in Tampa and I'll probably use my Vert 50% more than anyone else in the country (Except for SoCal People). I wouldn't even consider owning a Vert if you can't use it 60+% of the year. Verts are NOT made for racing whether street or track. They're made for cruising. Don't get me wrong, I've seen Verts hit low-mid 11s at the track, but having that ugly a*s 6 point rollbar in a vert just don't do it for me. The looks of a Vert isn't great with the top up, but when you're driving on the beach, or on a curvy road on a very nice day, give me a Vert over a Coupe any day hands down. Noise isn't a problem when you have music playing at 98 dB. If Vert's are for f*gs, then call me Richard Simmons.

Hey Cajun, I'm Also in Tampa. I have never owned a Vert Before because the Theft and Vandalism in Tampa is So Bad. I have Driven quite a Few, since I used to Work for a Rental Car Company, and they are fun. But I'd rather have a Fastback, Hardtop.
