Well, it's officially been 1 year since I picked up my '05. I wanted to start a thread for people to "reflect" on how they feel about the cars a full year after taking delivery. Discuss things like:

1) Would you do it again

2) Still really excited or just on the it's okay side

3) Major or Minor problems you've had

4) Mods you've done that really impacted the way the car performs

5) Mods you've done that you felt were somewhat a waste of money

6) Plans to keep the car or let it go and why

Personally, I'm still as excited to drive the car today as I was a year ago. Okay, maybe not QUITE as excited as when I drove her home from the dealer, but pretty close.

Let em rip!!

I have had mine for 11 months, and I am still just as excited as day one. I only have 6600 miles on it and I dropped it off last night to get inspected.

1) Would you do it again
Yes - without a doubt

2) Still really excited or just on the it's okay side
Yes - without a doubt

3) Major or Minor problems you've had
Nothing serious, mostly the shaker and the strut popping

4) Mods you've done that really impacted the way the car performs
JLT with tune, and Bassani X-pipe soon

5) Mods you've done that you felt were somewhat a waste of money
None - I am happy with all the things I have done

6) Plans to keep the car or let it go and why
Keep it till it dies. I have had almost all my cars until they die

My car is in my hands one year on the 28th of October 2005.

I miss my 03 GT Convertible but I love this car. In hindsite, I may have waited for a vert and bought one in 06, but then the trade in on my 03 would not have been as good.... So I guess I am glad I did it when I did.

Strut issues still bug me since my dealer has had my parts on order for 5 months!

I do not even hear it anymore. I guess I'm used to it.

My mods are still coming, Hurst shifter any day now. This car was built with mods in mind. My stripe was a little over the top but it makes my car stand out more. The C&L CAI, Bassani Axelbacks, Comp Cats, and X-pipe are worth it IMO. The smaller cats makes the interior of the car less hot. The Hood pins are needed on this brick of a front end.

This car will stay with me a while.

Wow, that's gotta be some kinda record wait.... Anyway, back on topic: I still love my 'Stang, and her 1 year anniversary is coming up in November. I would do it over again, and the only issues I've had are the strut popping (fixed after 2 month wait for parts), and having a passenger side window replaced because of my Ex-GF chipping the heck out of glass edge with her rings (not the reason she's an Ex however). I have had periodic troubles with the CD's skipping, but I am skipping the fix on that because (1), most of my listening is to FM....and (2), alot of people that have went for the fix, are still having the same problem, and I don't need my dash torn in to for that accomplishment.

1) Would you do it again?
Yes. Best automotive buy I ever made.

2) Still really excited or just on the it's okay side?
Even if I had a bad day at work, when I walk out to the parking lot and see her sitting there... awesome. Only the wife and baby give me a better feeling.

3) Major or Minor problems you've had
A couple vibrating screws that can drive you nuts. Nothing major.

4) Mods you've done that really impacted the way the car performs
No mods. I figure so many people mod there cars I'll leave my as is. There will be fewer of them around.

5) Mods you've done that you felt were somewhat a waste of money
See above.

6) Plans to keep the car or let it go and why
I'll drive it into the ground.

It will be a year on Oct 22 that I have had my car and I can't believe how fast the time has gone after waiting 7 months to get it!!! I'm just as happy to have today as the day I got it. I come out to a parking lot, see the car, and can't believe it's mine!! I'll drive it until I get my next one, probably sell this one to my son after he finishes college, to keep it in the family. Only minor problems so I have no complaints.

One year for me will be on 11/20.

1) Would you do it again
Definitely.

2) Still really excited or just on the it's okay side
I still stare at her every day.

3) Major or Minor problems you've had
Other than the curb that jumped out in front of me? No problems.

4) Mods you've done that really impacted the way the car performs
K&N, Predator 93, 18x9 w/255s (the car tracks really bad in worn down roads as opposed to the narrower tires)

5) Mods you've done that you felt were somewhat a waste of money
I can't really say I'm disappointed with any of them. I can say that I wish I had a little more control buying things though.

6) Plans to keep the car or let it go and why
As long as I can afford to keep her, I'm going to keep her.

Next week will be exactly one year since I picked my car up.

1) Would you do it again

I would absolutely do it again... even knowing now that I will be forced to part with it.

2) Still really excited or just on the it's okay side

I am just as excited to drive the car as I was the day I drove it home from Ford.

3) Major or Minor problems you've had

No major problems... just the normal TSB's. All fixed now though.

4) Mods you've done that really impacted the way the car performs

My favorite performance mod would have to be the exhaust work I've done. The stock exhaust sounded good... but having a louder and deeper growl is never a bad thing.
5) Mods you've done that you felt were somewhat a waste of money

The biggest waste of money was ordering the car with the spoiler, and then later figuring out I wanted a ducktail. So, I spent a few hundred having the trunk holes welded and the decklid repainted. I definitely think it was worth it though.

6) Plans to keep the car or let it go and why

Unfortunately... because of the situation I am in thanks to Katrina... I have to let her go. But definitely not by choice.

Picked mine up on Nov 19th so not quite a year yet

1) Would you do it again
Yes

2) Still really excited or just on the it's okay side
I still enjoy the car every day hate the interior rattles

3) Major or Minor problems you've had
Gas tank replaced -TSB
Front struts replaced - TSB
Trans replaced - TSB
Pass air bag replaced - TSB
Stereo (shaker 1000) replaced - TSB
Had it in over 20 times to have interior rattles removed, car still rattles more than my wifes 91 accord with 160k miles on it.

4) Mods you've done that really impacted the way the car performs
SLP loud mouths - more for the sound

5) Mods you've done that you felt were somewhat a waste of money
None at this time

6) Plans to keep the car or let it go and why
Keeper, may trade in on an 07

My year anniversary will be coming up on Nov 15.

1) Would you do it again
In a heartbeat. I had to wait 6 month's for my baby to come in and it was well worth the wait. I've have it for almost a year and have put less than 5,000 miles on it

2) Still really excited or just on the it's okay side
I'm still really excited!

3) Major or Minor problems you've had
Have not had any of the TSB's but I did get rearended back in April and was Stangless for a month. Now she is as good as new and still look's great.

4) Mods you've done that really impacted the way the car performs
Put in the SLP Loudmouth exhaust and will next put in a Hurst shifter.

5) Mods you've done that you felt were somewhat a waste of money
none

6) Plans to keep the car or let it go and why
I was going to get the Shelby but I will just add a supercharger and enjoy my car and mod it the way i want. I plan to drive it until the day it dies!

Wow, really cool stories!

So far some things I notice are:

Everyone loves their cars and there are no regrets so far about the purchase.

Everyone feels good about the mods they've made and those that haven't feel good about the fact that they haven't.

Most of us so far feel we'll keep the car basically till it dies or of course till Ford coughs up something that gives us chills like this one did.

Very cool to read them. Keep em coming!

3) Major or Minor problems you've had
No real problems, just the occasional Shaker skip.

4) Mods you've done that really impacted the way the car performs
CAI, 93 octane tune, wider rims & tires, springs

PIE adapter, but I'm still waiting on the fix.

6) Plans to keep the car or let it go and why
I plan to keep it as long as I can.

1) Would you do it again
Yes no regrets.

2) Still really excited or just on the it's okay side
Still excitted, still supprises me at times and still puts a big smile on my face.

3) Major or Minor problems you've had
Strut popping, had them replaced and needed to have alignment done, then popping came back and dealership did not order my parts, the service guy moved depts and they don't seem to give a darn about their customer service, KenGrody Ford Buena Park CA. has really pathetic customer service.

4) Mods you've done that really impacted the way the car performs
Only changed tires/rims and put slp's loudmoths, not too much performance change but bigger grin factor.

5) Mods you've done that you felt were somewhat a waste of money
None happy with what I've done so far.

6) Plans to keep the car or let it go and why
Plan to keep it forever, I hope.

Aniversery will be dec. 15th
