As I took part of your post as being contradicting.. In other words, if you feel the new S550 makes our S-197's look blocky and fat, then what exactly did you mean when you said that you love your S-197 after that ?
Mark ! After reading over your post, I'm not quite sure I understand where your coming from.. As I took part of your post as being contradicting.. Maybe he meant PHAT Instead of fat. Some guys like the big girls you know. ;-p
I don't think he meant he thinks his car is fat. Just parked next to the 15' it looks big. I also think our cars look blocky compared to the 15. But I still like my 08'.
For comparisons sake park ours next to a Camaro or Challenger and I think the opposite could be said. Ours looks small and sleek by comparrison. :-)
In the end I see it as two completely different design languages applied to an image that is the mustang. I happen to like both, but they both speak to me in different ways.

I definitely agree with everything you mentioned in your post, and yes although our cars appear to look blocky and larger when compared side by side with the new 15's, I still like my 06 just a bit more, as the new S550 just didn't have nearly the same impact as my current 06 GT did after seeing it for the very first time nearly 10 years ago..
There's also no question when compared side by side with the current Challenger and Camaro, our S-197 Mustangs are indeed much sleeker and smaller by comparison, no doubt about that at all

Like yourself, I also like both cars and like the modern design language Ford has taken with the new S550, as both are indeed instantly recognizable and speak Mustang to me in their own unique ways..
In the end, if I could financially afford to have 2 Mustangs in addition to my 2013 Escape ? I would most definitely love adding a new 15 to my stable, however I won't get rid of my current 06 GT just in order to have one, as I'm too attached to my Mustang and know deep down inside that I'd regret it afterwards to say the very least
