Ok.......had some DT(down time) at work today. I was hired a month ago, and was looking at the company site....I realized I qualify for the X-plan.

Ironically I looked last week, and Ford wasn't listed.

I was wondering if the X-plan is even worth it at this point with GT's going sooo cheap anyways.

I keep hearing "A-plan", "Z-plan", "X -plan", etc.

Pardon my naive nature but what are people talking about.

Yea.......didn't really know what it was either, but apparently ......if you work for Ford you get an A plan.

If you know a Ford worker they can hand out a X plan. Supposedly A is 2% under MSRP......and X is 2% over MSRP.

Dunno about Z plan......I think that's nephews or stuff like that.

Not completely sure.....it's confusing though.

Got mine on the xplan, and it was a great deal...I got a good price to start, then all the rebates...and the dealer even gave me a good trade on my Ranger...so I was happy as could be....

GOSH! I'd hope that it's invoice!!!!!
If you know how the dealer's process works and you play your cards right you can get those prices anyway.

example:

Before I realized how low prices on 2 year old mustangs were dropping I talked a dealer down on a loaded (170hp engine, 2-tone heated leather seats, 17"premium alloys, traction control, six disc in-dash, and every other you can get) SVT focus from $21,500 ($19,990 msrp $18,300 invoice) after taxes, licensing, etc., down to $16,600 ($14970 purchase price) + a 27 inch JVC tv. Then I left without the car.

This is typical to good of what I pay for cars. And in any situation I can talk a dealer down from MSRP to invoice in a matter of 10 minutes. Anyone can do this if they just know a couple of things.

I have to be honest, I know you guys say xplan is 2% over invoice, but when I went to the dealer for my car, my xplan was invoice, then minus the 4 grand rebate, and I still got hooked up with 3 percent on the financing....and as I stated, they gave me a real good price on the trade in, I"m assuming because they are subsidized a bit by ford???

Can't wait for the new vert

X-Plan is 4% above A-Plan pricing plus $150(at least around here) plus No D.O.C. fee. Depending on the vehicle it usually works out that if you can get the dealer to discount the D.O.C. fee you pretty much get the same price anyway. Go to www.fordvehicles.com and type in your zip code and you can search inventories and find invoice on any vehicle.

Listen, I can get a good look at a butcher's butt by sticking my head up there, but wouldn't you rather take his word for it? No... wait... it has to be YOUR bull...

I drink 2% milk myself.

I hear a lot of talk about A/Z/D/X Plans for Ford Pricing. What are these?
- Ford offers a discount to Ford employees and Ford vendors/suppliers employees, and their immediate families. Ford employees, and their immediate family (spouse, kids, parents, siblings) qualify for the A Plan, which is 2% below invoice on the vehicle. Ford supplier employees, and Ford partner employees, qualify for the X Plan, also known as the Friends and Family Plan. This plan is 2% above invoice, or 4% higher than A Plan. The Z Plan is available to former Ford employees who have retired from Ford, and is the same discount as the A Plan. D Plan is the Dealer Plan, available to employees of the dealer, which is also the same as the A and Z plans. A Plan pricing and X Plan pricing are both listed on the actual invoice of the vehicle, kept at the dealer.

X-Plan Noted on dealer invoice as X-Plan Price: A-Plan + 4% +$150 ($250 on Lincoln) surcharge*

Pulled off the Ford Dealer website.

I'm finding X-plan is about: MSRP x .927 = X-plan Price

That's just an estimate, but it's been correct.
