Winter Tires for GT
#1
I was wondering if there are any good winter tires for the 2004 GT? There are good one available from Bridestone for the V6 but none for the 245 rims. Do the V6 rims fit on the GT? Shouldn't be a problem, or?
Just wondering. I just got my new stang and was wondering how to deal with driving it during the winter.

You can fit either 15" or 16" wheels on a GT. I run a set of 215/60/16 Michelin Arctic Alpins on steel wheels in the winter, although if I did it again, I'd go with a set of stock V-6 rims, as the aftermarket steelies aren't exactly the roundest wheels.
I went with the Alpins because they're pretty quiet and smooth, although the Blizzaks might have a little better snow traction. You can't go wrong with either one.

For winter tires on my 1999 GT I went with a set of 16" wheels from a v6 stang, and mounted a set of Nokian Haakepilliita (sp?) Q snow tires. They were AWESOME!
For winter tires on my current car, I have a set of 17" wheels from a GT stang, and have a set of Dunlop SP Winter Sport M3, in a 235/45/17 size. these were also very good, but not quite as good as the Haake's.
I have never tired Blizzak's but I can say the Haake's were incredible.
