Why don't we get this here? The prices are in the Australian dollar, so you can cut the prices quoted in half. About $25000 US for a Falcon XR8 with a 5.4 liter V8.

Not only is it a 5.4 liter, it's DOHC as well, we've been gettin jipped this whole time on the Mustang, just think if years ago when the LS1 debuted, Ford countered with this set up. Ford should have introduced the 4.6 with the PI setup when they frist made the change to the SN95s then go to the 5.4 once the LS1 motor came out. Ford always seems to wait too long before they act.

I agree CatmanJJ, they are just so political nowadays and try to play it smart...and now that the Bird is dead and the Camaro is out for a few years, I sincerely doubt the stingy people at Ford will do anything exceptional to the mustangs...save for their beloved Cobra. It seems nowadays in the Ford world if you don't have a Cobra, you won't get squat for power from the their factory. They just don't care enough for the GT to give it some LS1 rivaling power and have the Cobra go after the Z06 and Viper. Their answer to that is the six figure Ford GT (formerly known as the GT40) which for about 30 grand more still couldn't beat a Viper in the quarter.....how sad. The power of the supercharger people.....put in a tiny engine and overload it with forced induction...yeah....way to go.

"Ford Australia says it stopped importing the legendary V8 Mustang because it didn't need it any more. It's right, the Boss 260 XR8 does everything the 'stang did, but better."
I like this part.

the Ford Gt isnt made for drag racing. would like to see someone get the viper upto 205 MPH. and the austrailian version is going to be close to cobra R pricing....it is 34,000+ for the base model. then you have the ABS, leather sport suspension etc etc. you are looking at like 44,000 for performance that wont match the 33,000 cobra. and depending on weight wont get the mach 1. cubic inches are nice to have. but as long as the performance is upto par CI is just more weight. IMO

I really don't care if it's not built for drag racing...at well over 130,000 it should be faster in ALL aspects to the Viper, no exceptions. Even if I could afford the massive tag I wouldn't get the GT for "nostalgia" purposes....it's not that impressive. I bleed Ford in and out but they just disappoint me time and time again with their inferior power outputs.

and then the viper should destroy the vette in all aspects since it is 35k more but it doesnt. and what about the 650,000 enzo, or 250,000 lambo or 200,000 ferrari? they dont outgun the GT so i think for what they went to accomplish it was right on. and all the tests were on preproduction models with crappy exhaust
