throtle body
I have a 2001 mustang gt about a year ago i replaced the throtle body with a 70mm acufab then but a bbk cold air induction kit on and just recently i put a trick flow upper plentum on and then yesterday i raced a buddy with a 2002 mustang gt and all he has is a cold air induction kit and he kept up with me my question is do i need to reset my computer to tell my computer on my car or what or was the $600 dollars in improvements a waste and shouldnt i notice a big difference please tell me. Thanks for your time...
Yep, I am with Rock. Gains for a throttle body and plenum are going to be very minimal on an otherwise stock engine. A tune would help some. Also, you didnt mention what transmissions both of you are running. If he is in a 5 speed and you in an auto then the drivetrain loss in the auto would more than cancel out the gains from those two mods against a 5 speed. And there is always the possibility that he just drives better than you as well.
installed a 70MM BBK TB and im getting a check engine light and the car is ideling all over that RPM range. It will start up and stick about about 2k then drop back down to one. getting a code error for the Throttle Postion Sensor. Reset my computer and its still acting up
edit:
figured out what the problem is. I forgot that I had a spacer on my accelerater pedal to take up the slack, because on a stock mustang in atleast my year, the pedal is real close to the ground not allowing wide open acceleration. So when I installed the TB it needed a little more slack which I did not have because of the spacer. So the the TB was running slightly open at all time hence causing the car to idle high

I picked up a good bit by getting a tune. Without a tune, your gains would be minimal, IMO.
