This saturday I'm taking my 03 Cobra to the dragstrip. I've never been to one before and am nervous about making an hiney of myself in front of my mustang club. B) Anyone have any tips for at least hitting a 12.99? I know the car has it in it, but I dont know if my skills are up to it.

1. Cobra=More Power
2. IRS vs. SRA (Solid Rear Axle)
Just watch out for excessive wheel hop! There were a couple of ’03-’04 Cobras’ when I went. Best time I saw was 13.2, and the wheel hop was crazy!
Have a great time!

No, Rob, the NCMC is having a "dragnic" (drag race and picnic) at Beaver Springs Dragway. All guests are welcome, just say you're a guest of Angelo or Travis of the North Central Mustang Club! We are leaving the Denny's resturant in Selingsgrove (or Shamokin Dam if you please) at 9:30AM, its about a 30 minute drive from there...

Angelo, I'd love to join you guys, but the triathlon is Sunday, and I have to attend a mandatory meeting on Sat. We'll have to arrange a day at Numidia, before the summer is over.

launch it off idle and feather into both the throttle and out on hte clutch. Try to avoid wheel hop with the completely stock IRS. If you hook to good, chances of breaking a half shaft are pretty good.

all righty, I'm back and I had an awesome time. I was really nervous but I guess I did ok. I'll scan the timeslips later, but heres my first, and then my best.
First Run:
R/T -- .955
60' -- 2.382
330' -- 6.003
660' -- 8.896
MPH -- 85.13
1000' -- 11.356
1/4 -- 13.388
MPH -- 110.71
I was really happy with that. It was my first run ever, and seemed pretty respectable.
BEST Run:
R/T -- .271
60' -- 2.147
330' -- 5.650
660' -- 8.463
MPH -- 87.13
1000' -- 10.8701
1/4 -- 12.875
MPH -- 112.55
I am incredibly happy with that, and had an awesome time.

Well, it was dynoed by the previous owner, but I dont know if it was before the exhaust and air intake were put on. On the disc it said 399.2hp, and a totally flat torque band at 375.

Very good!!!
Was humidity high? If it was, just wait till fall!!
You get your 60ft times under 2.0 (~1.9) you might hit 12.6's . . or so it would seem!
