my tranny whines when the car is in neutral clutch pedal released, and whine a little bit in 1st and 2nd. just had a new clutch flywheel TOB and pilot bearding installed, it has always whined a little bit in the gears but didnt notice it doing it while in neutral sitting still till after the clutch install. just wondering is this normal??? the car is a 2000 gt with 50k miles

 

Did you use a ford throwout bearing or aftermarket one? Sure sounds like a crappy aftermarket thats making noise already

Change the tansmisson fluid?

 

That is your problem. Always use ford throwout bearing. The rest all make noise

 

Yep brand new fluid like I said though its not loud just noticeable if that makes any sence

 

Yup. The ford one is the best. Mine whined in 3rd. I changed it out to synchromesh(AMSOIL) 2 years ago and haven't had a problem again. With the tranny anyway.
