Shaker System as replacement for Mach 460
Shaker System as replacement for Mach 460
Hi:
Sorry if this was posted before, but I couldn't find any info. My Mach 460 CD Player is mechanically broken -- can I, by chance replace it with a head unit from the Shaker system? If so, which one 500 or 1000? Thanks!!

I'm fairly confident you can make the unit work, as sound systems are easily adapted to different cars. The only real question I'd have is if it physically fits in the Mach 460's place.
Might wanna ask some of the S197 guys if they have dimensions for their Shaker systems so you can compare to your Mach

Maybe a dumb question, but why not aftermarket? A lot easier to find than the factory stuff, and a lot more suited to your exact wants/ "needs." I love my aftermarket head unit, but then again my car came with the bottom of the line stereo, and even that was uninstalled when I got it.
The Mach stuff is messed up. Either replace it all or just leave it.
And what is it you guys can't play? All the cds I burn work fine in mine.

Getting things to fit can be a pain. I have a spare 6 disc changer from an 03' Mustang that I wanted to fit into my 97' GT and all the hassle wasn't worth the bother ( I would have had to swap out my center console, center stack) I love the look of stock looking stereos but the after market stuff is just better and easier to adapt.
