Po 350 code on 01 GT

My 01 GT keeps coming up with Po 340 code. I already changed out the socket and cam position sensor and it still pops up. Any suggestions of what this problem could be? And also my car is back firing when I start it cold or hot. Any suggestions, thanks in advance..

I usually would change the cam and crank sensors together. Really difficult to test which one is bad. But I didn't look up your code yet.

Could be some bad wiring going to the sensor making the computer itself think it's the sensor, the backfiring when starting is prolly due to this code that's how the car determines ignition timing

Seems like a common problem. Check out this thread: http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forum...rror-code.html Might have something to do with the alternator...

Thanks I'll swap out the alternator and hopefully that's the problem.

Cam position sensor code. I think you have a damaged wire. Let me get you some wire diagrams as well as diagnostic time tables.

I've changed the plug because my clip was broken, and I have 168k on it.

As nathan said, this seems to be becoming quite a bit of an issue. We both have the same code, as does the OP. My dealer scanned it and said it was a PCM issue. I haven't gone any further with it yet however.

Didn't realize this was common on the new edge stangs... Hopefully its not a Pcm because that's not cheap. If anyone is near by I will do some free diagnostics to see if I can pin point it.

Yes. Using a dmm which is about 15,000 dollars... We have one at work.

Another problem I'm having is that the abs light is on, checked all of the sensors and and everything looks good. Im wondering if this is another for issue for these years.

My ABS light was on a year ago and it turned out the wire going to the sensor was rubbing up against the tire.
