As if I don't have enough projects I just couldn't resist once again. I had bid on this car on Ebay with a $2000 bid just because I was curious what it would sell for...I didn't meet the reserve and I got outbid by 2 other people....The car eventually sold for $3K which wasn't bad for what the car is and it's value...but it turns out the 2 other bidders flaked out on the guy and I got a "2nd chance offer" to buy the car at my $2K bid price....I almost said no and ignored it but decided to call the guy and ask a couple questions...turns out the trans has only 20K on it after being rebuilt and it had 2 new tires. Only 116K on the car and 2 owners...it has been used as a "public relations" Police car for this company since 1998 when they bought it with 17K miles on it. They were just updating the fleet of cars and were retiring this one. Someone tried to steal it from their lot so it needs a steering column, paint and a heater core(included with the car but not installed). I drove to Charlotte, NC yesterday and picked it up....this is it on the trailer this morning....It did have a Vector light bar on it and strobes front and back but they have been removed.

It's a GT...standard 4.6 2 Valve with an Automatic transmission. After removing all the decals it is looking MUCH better

Nah, I'll repaint it and fix a few things and put the wife in it for a while as a daily driver and give the 7up a break until I finish the '95 GT vert

Well it looks like I am going to keep this one and turn it into my wife's daily driver so that when her '95 vert is finished she won't have to drive it daily to work. As a result something in the collection must give so it looks like I will end up selling her '90 7up convertible....I hate to and could never possibly recoup what I have invested in it with the restoration and NOS parts I bought for it but she wants to get into the SN95 body and I'll never drive the 7up car so it might as well go to a good home instead of sitting in the garage.

Plans for this one will include an interior change(I bought another 96 GT with black leather interior Saturday) and a different set of wheels and eventually new paint.

 

Stayed late at the shop last night and since PSH is on hold awaiting a part I did some work to the '96...I have a bunch of take off parts around so I installed a complete set of '04 Shocks and struts with 16K miles on them, got rid of the stock 6 cat mid pipe and replaced it with an '03 GT 4 cat mid pipe(note: this does not fit without modification) and installed a stock '03 Mach 1 cat back exhaust system(had to make custom hangers for the back of this system).

So I shaved at least 15 lbs by losing the 2 extra catalytic converters and it sounds better with the Mach 1 cat-back system.

I have other projects that I would rather devote funds to which is why I am using leftover parts to put this one together

Don't come to the shop for 2 days and you turn the world upside down. Sounds like the car is turning out well.
