need tranny suggestions
My tranny now is hard to go into gear and the car grinds sometimes going into 4th.. i was thinking that i am going to need the upgrade the tranny cause i am over powering it now. any ideas what a good tranny would be or a good place to get a better rebuild kit for it?

i dont think your overpowering it because some guys i've seen just add a few bolt ons and then a S/C and there tranny is fine unless yours has like 150k mile then i would completly understand. does it have fluid in it?

well the stock tranny in 94-95 mustangs won't hold up to stock power levels if you put a better clutch in it especially if you drive like batman they're only rated to handle 300ft-lbs of torque and the 5.0 puts out 285 a complete exhaust system can put it over 300ft-lbs I crushed the 3rd gear synchronizers and sheared most of the teeth off of 2nd and 3rd gears in my stock tranny after I put on the edelbrock heads and trickflow intake but instead of rebuilding the stock tranny I got an A-5 tranny from Astro performance and Haven't had a problem since of course it does have a 650hp/525tq rating

i got some syncomesh from the BG guy and put that in there with some Mercon V, but that didn't do me any good. i figured i would start somewhere and see what happens. i had done alot of stuff to my engine and it has a spec clutch behind it. i haven't wanted to really slam the gears cause i can't afford to have it down. Does Astro performance have a website. what about the tremec 500 and 600s?

www.astroperformance.com you can get the tremec from mustangs unlimited, late model restoration supply, or cj pony parts but with the tremec you'll have to get a new bellhousing and shifter and possibly a driveshaft with the astro kit you'll need a 10.5 inch 26-spline clutch disc this is off astro's website for the A-5 gear upgrade
Modification:
"A-5" Gear Kit only requires one modification, 26 Spline Clutch Upgrade. This means Factory/OEM Bellhousing, Shifter, Cross-Member, and Driveshaft are all reusable. Astro Performance offers several Upgraded Clutch Options to choose from. Please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have!
