Only 8 lbs. of boost. Mods before included BBK shorty headers, BBK 78mm throttle body/plenum, BBK CAI, Comp Cams Stage II cams, Typhoon intake manifold, Magnaflow X-pipe and catback exhaust. The race tune requires racing fuel, so I'm happy with 408. You can't see the top color very well. It's a dark blue with pearl in it, so when you look at it just right it shifts from the blue to purple with a thin stripe of black to separate the blue and silver.

Stout, block yeah internals no. He is running it close. with '03 cobra internals or decent forged stuff those blocks can push 800 no prob. I'd be nervous on the stock stuff.
I dropped down to 10 when I read you were getting an intercooler. What kind of dyno was it? Oh I didn't figure the tune.

To think, I'm just a guy reading books and jus bought my first "used" Mustang 13 months ago. Did you want some suggested reading material on forced induction Joe?

We pushed boost on mine but didn't advance the timing that far. As a matter of fact it's first dyno with advanced timing put out 505 so we backed it off.

So kind of the opposite.

PSI and SCFM are what you look for. I'm maxed out on boost not SCFM. Nice 2.9 whipple would give me more power with less PSI. Turbo set up usually allows more airflow which is why gains are a bit higher. Procharger numbers are usually lower than Vortech and Paxton. Procharger's big sales tactic is that intercooler which can be bought separately and used on any kit. Not a big procharger fan.

Turbos allow you to use some of the 30% wasted energy you're putting out of the exhaust and turn into useful horsepower. It's easier to blow things up if not mapped correctly (as is the case with ANY forced induction application) but if planned and reviewed then re-reviewed multiple times and built carefully one piece at a time, it will be way more efficient than a supercharger. Wonder of that's why Porsche has used turbos instead of Superchargers?

Well we can battle all day about this. From all of my experience with both, more power had been gained from a turbo setup but they are a lot tougher to tune. So full race car I would consider a turbo but not for street or street/strip. Hard to tune a turbo car for both duties.

60' times I would go supercharged any day of the week. Smoking my tires past Al at a 65mph roll, turboed all day long.

Challenge accepted. Let me know when you're ready. You just better have at least 600hp at those wheels.

And 1000lbs less? Mine weighs in at 3432lbs on the scale, don't think I won't process HP to Weight ratio as a factor. One of the things I learned about from readin' n' such.

Do what you gotta do Pete. 4th and 5th gear are scary fast in the cobra. So far the only car that has given me any kind of run was a 12' GT500 punching off at 80. And he still got beat.

And what kind of lap times are you laying down there Al? I didn't invest in mine to go in straight lines.

Being that Alseph is in NOLA and I'm in the PAC NW, it will never actually happen. But we can both trash talk. Al just sounds more like Mopar.

All in good fun though.

Road Rally sounds great to me, think you can make it up here in your Terminator without trailoring it?
