The reason I joined this forum is due to the 2005 Mustang. However I have been really looking at the Mach 1's lately and really like them. My local dealership just called me and offered me a 2004 Mach 1 with only 748 miles on it and a price of 25k. Is this a good deal? Should I go for it? How do you guys like your Mach 1'S? Are there basic mods you can do to the engine to get say an exta 25-35 hp? Thanks for your input.

I think $25K is high this late in the game. Though I am not sure about inventory in and around your area.

I love my Mach.

As far as Mods for 25-35hp . . . Exhaust, X/H-pipe, Cold-Air Intake, maybe an intake spacer are all relatively simple mods that will improve performance. Some needed in conjunction with others. Not to mention suspension Mods.

Gears are also very welcome by Mach's 4.10 & 4.30 especially.

You might also want to check out . .www.mach1registry.com. They have great Mach 1 information.

EDIT:

I made a correction as not to confuse gears with increase engine hp.

^ I wish! Sorry I should have clarified.

No, this is what I meant to say about gears in relation to performance.

Like Evil Capri said, the price seems on the high side since the 05 debuts are just just around the corner, and the fact that the car is used. Look on ebay. I've seen some low mileage cars get no bids at $20K. I think you could get a much better price by shopping around, and being willing to travel a little. Good luck, and let us know how you make out.

Is that with all rebates? I know Ford is still offering $2500 back. If it is, I'd say you could go lower, 7 months ago I could have gotten any Mach for 25K including rebates at any dealership (on Long Island).

There are no rebates on used cars. But if that's a new one that was used as a demo, then basically it was abused by every other person that drove it, and I wouldn't pay over $21K for it.
