when i was shopping for my mustang, i looked into the Mach 1, and i fell in love with it. Only problem was that the salesman kept telling me insurance is almost double on the Mach 1's vs. the GT's. Does anyone know if their really is that big of a difference, or if the salesman was just pushing to sell the GT. I live in New Jersey btw, the land of sky rocketing car insurance.

Maybe its different in Jersey, but in Pa for me at least, there wasn't a different between the Mach 1 and a GT. A Cobra was only something like $80 more every 6 months.

When I traded my '02 GT for my '03 Mach 1 my insurance only went up like 12 bucks a month.

I personally love my mach. I have been sold on that model since day one. However, I am also in need of a truck so I'm battling over selling the car and getting a new truck, or keeping the car and getting an old beater.

As far as insurance goes, mine is $35 per month more than the gt.
