Long crank time
Long crank time
My mustang will crank a little long sometimes. Some will turn right over then almost die. Once it's running it's ok. Also it just doesn't always have as quick acceleration as it should, no misfire or CEL. Any thoughts on what it might be?
I've got good fuel pressure. The starting issue happens at random. Not after sitting. Is there anyone that has had this happen to them? Maybe you've found a solution. I don't have enough money to guess

Try this. Before you start it cycle the key on and off 3 times for 10 seconds apiece.
Bet it start easy after you do that.
Yeah that's backwards from the hot seize fuel pump failure....you could also check fuel pressure when the car has sat overnight if you haven't already...if its good that would rule out a system leak. It's weird though cause this reeks of a fuel delivery problem...its is possible the pump is intermittently failing which has been known to happen.
