Not to mention that's an 03-04 Sonic Blue Cobra in the pic.

Well they are right that they didnt make MysticChrome cobra's in 01.. Now the car in the pic could be a 2004 Mystic, as I know they have some blue effects in them, but that picture would have to be the perfect angle and lighting to get it to show only blue.

Where is altoona FL? Were they close and received any flood damage from the past huricanes? 6k sounds very fishy to me. I'm wondering if there is a motor/tranny in it.

Did they go to special location to take the picture. Not often you see a "private seller" make a set in order to a "photo shoot" looking image. Unless I just dont know(most likely). With the paint costing $3700 and only selling for 6k....why would you sell a car that is original sold at 40k (if this car is even correct) and turn around and sell it for, techincally, 3k?

I am almost interested to call just to hear the story.

All I'm saying is, if you show up with 6K in person, 1.) You'll have your money taken, 2.) Your butt kicked, and 3.) No car.

If you Moneygram/Western Uinion it, you ain't ever seeing it again -- and the phone number will quit working. Classic scam.

For fun my friend emailed the man.. this was his response...

Hi,

Thanks for your interest in my car.The price is correct $6000.00.Introducing the 2001 Mustang Convertible have you been dreaming of owning a gorgeous SVT Cobra series but did not want to pay the new car.I'm the first owner and the car was always in garage kept .(see PICS) Paint is factory original. The 2001 SVT is like no other vehicle on the road. This is one of the most powerful vehicles in existence. The sleek lines of design truly show the race car like aerodynamics. This Cobra is just stunning to look at. The Sexy Blue exterior is the factory finish.Once opened you'll notice only the highest quality used to cover all surfaces. The soft supple black&blue leather seats are in NEW condition showing BARE minimal signs of wear if any!!When you sit, you'll make yourself comfortable with POWER seating. These seats are equipped with a messaging airbag lumbar support system that will be appreciated.Ahead is your race car like gauge clus! ter with a reliable on board self diagnoses system alerting you of any maintenance needed. To your left are you power mirrors and ONE touch feature windows.Below this is your digital automatic climate control system. Just set the temperature to your desire and let the system do the rest. I assure you the A/c will freeze you in seconds. This system is equipped with dual climate controls to settle any temperature quarells. You'll appreciate that this vehicle was a NON SMOKER VEHICLE!! Make this Cobra the one to own! This SVT is blue with a Black&Blue interior and is waiting to take you anywhere in style.I will wait your email for further details.

Thank you so much!!

I'd email him back and ask specifics. Like why so cheap, and are you going to kill me or just beat me down when I show up with the money?

First off, the MSRP on the 2001 Cobras was $32,600. With the mileage, it's worth $23,600 without mods. I suspect that this is a "I'm selling this car so my cheating wife/husband can't have it after the divorce" thing.

Even with that, the car he is selling in the pics and the description is very inaccurate. What he descripes in the narrative is a 2004 Mystic Chrome cobra, not a 2001. Also, with the digital climate control and dual zone climate is also inaccurate and non-existent in mustangs unless I missed something.

Its a shady deal regardless.

I to sent an email to the owner before that first was sent from the other post. Basically justed asked "Why only $6k?" "The car is marketed at alteast $35k?" "Is there anything wrong with it?"

Probably not the most formal email but straight up to the point. No response yet. It has been about 3 to 4 hours.
