Just put mass air kit on my 95 cobra
Just installed the MAC mass air kit on my 95 cobra. It is said that the mac mass air gives you a 16.5 hp gain. I can really feel the difference. It also gives yor car a louder and deeper sound! Great product for $235.000 with free shipping!!!

16.5 thats pretty good. I'm wondering what it would do for a 99 GT. Man with a chip and cold air intake if I could reach somewhere in the 300 hp range i would be very happy

hmm depends on the blower and the psi... check out 5.0 resto, they have some nice S/C kits for a 3.8L V6 in a stang, they said it got 215 hp on an otherwise stock 3.8L. keep in mind this was a 94-95 era 3.8, so you might get a lil more juice.
check out the various V6 stang sites, they'll have plenty of good info that you can most likley apply to your 'bird

yes, 46 flywheel hp addition, so it would translate to like 25rwhp. the car would run much quicker also, you might also wanna consider a set of 4.10 or 3.73 gears

I wonder about the hp gains these products advertise.Say you put a chip in to increase 30 hp and then the mass air that give 16.5 hp. Does that mean your car actually made an extra 16.5 on top of the 30 hp all ready gained? Or is there a wash in there some where???

A while back Horsepower TV used the SCT tuner(or something like that) for an 03 Cobra and gained like 40 hp. Afterwards they added pullies and gained another 20hp. I doubt the pulley by itself will give a 20hp gain. It was more of the combination than the product.
I believe later in the show they mentioned that adding after market headers and exhaust could lower hp and damage the engine because the tuner wasn't programmed for it.
So virtually the Horsepower TV crew added the best combination, showing that more money and more parts don't always equal positive results.

Just an FYI, Supercoupes are suppose to make 250hp to the crank in stock form. With a little work they can easily get to 300 rwhp on the stock short block. Now I am sure the mustang 3.8 internals are slightly different, bu that may give you a rough idea.
