Idle Issues
Idle Issues
I have a 1998 SVT Cobra convertible. The engine has just been rebuilt and it has all new everything . When you drive, and pull up to a stop, the throttle "sticks" at about 2000-2500 rpm. When I blip the throttle it comes down to a normal idle. It does this hot or cold. Recently, I had the injectors rebuilt, which was a major improvement, It is running great (except for the idle issue), but the engine light comes on, the error is P0174, Bank 2 System Too Lean. I would appreciate any help!

Ok, so there's too much O2 in the exhaust, and the car can't adjust to that by adding more fuel. Throws the code.
You believe the injectors are good to go, and I'm inclined to go with that as well. So it's maybe the O2 sensors are not working correctly on the left side. This could be bad sensors, wiring. Another is an intake issue on that side. Cracked intake, vacuum leak (although one would think a vacuum leak would be for all banks, not one side, but still...) And then the MAF could be shot, if yours is equipped with that (can't say I know everything about a '98 Cobra) If not, well, there's other sensors involved with intake, so check them all out for viability.
If all the rest of that checks out... maybe it's possible that crud has gotten in the fuel injectors, so perhaps reinspection, or even swapping the left side to the right and vice versa...
You might also want to get a good scan tool or a mechanic with one that can maybe see fuel flow or whatever possible to ensure proper fuel delivery if that's even a thing that can be done on your car.
Any mods to discuss? Mods can cause issues sometimes, and can make it harder to pinpoint what's wrong... I mean, beyond the injectors rebuilt and the engine rebuild...
I'm sure I'm missing something, but that should get ya down the road to maybe figuring it out?
In any event, hope it helps, good luck! And welcome to the forums!
