Hello everybody,
this morning when i went to turn on my car it started but it idled at 700rpm as soon as it started then it shot up to 1500 for 5 seconds and while it came back down the check engine light came on for 5 seconds and then it was all normal. Does anyone have any ideas as to what happened? Thanks for any help. :scratch:

 

When the throttle sensor went on my '88 it would bounce while stopped in drive from 750 RPM to 1500 RPM.
Not exactly your problem but may be in the right direction.
