So I've got a 35th anniversary edition mustang, and with that they came with the honeycomb on the back. Bought the car used and didnt know much about the 35th's when we bought it, or what it was. I wasnt thrilled about the honeycomb, but it is growing on me. I decided to pull it off and I like it...but there are holes underneath. Im trying to decide if I should find a way to fill/cover them or leave the honeycomb on. Suggestions?

Here's pics of it on there, and one a closeup with the honeycomb off and the holes.

You have a great looking car and among other GT's the 1999 35th Anniversary "Limited Edition" GT is one of the best looking period. I have one too and would never remove the panels. I really think you should leave them on.
Visit www.mustang35th.com for more on these special GT's.

btw, what number do you have?

I say put them back on. But I also added them to my LaserRed 99GT convert, too. I think they visually break up the area between the lights. They also bring the honeycomb effect to the rear of the car, just like the Mach 1s of yesteryear. Of course, I remember the first Mach 1s, too.

The body is obviously not stock so do which ever you prefer, at
this point I wouldn't worry too much about keeping the body
stock.

If you really don't want the honeycomb on there check around in
some local junk yards and see if you can't find a used one without
the honeycomb on it. Then you could always easily put it back on
if you wanted.

I say leave them on. I too have a 35th. They are an identifing symbol for the car and look great. I think the Mach 1's should have had them too. I say leave em!!

No i don't believe they are. They Machs had the emblem but that was it. You can buy the honeycomb appliques with the Mach 1 logo on them from 50resto though. I saw one also and they compliment the car nicely!

It can always be painted the same as the car if the color contrast is your concern.

Thats a shame. They're harder and harder to come by.

I added them to my 03 GT because I thought it added some contrast to the very "white" rear end.
