an 06 v6 honda accord EX, came up on me then kicked it in Neutral and reved at me... of course, I gave alittle gas, and pulled ahead then he came on the right side of me and flew by, I floored it and caught up.

10 minutes later, and several pass and go's later, we got to a red light together. we both floored it and I pulled out ahead, but we had to stop b/c of traffic. I called it quits then b/c my better half was in the car with me and she doesn't like it when I try to race so much. She can take alittle bit of it, but just not in traffic.

My question is, if we could've kept going, who would've won. I'd like to think I would have, but those new hondas have about 250hp don't they?

About 240, but they are heavy.......it also depends on whether he had a stick/auto.

Since most Honda engines are not known for their torque(I've owned 2....1 Honda & 1 Acura). Just like Scothew said they do their work at top end. Most "smart" Honda guys will try to race on the highway rather than stop signs/lights because there cars are already moving and they can get the revs up quicker. My Acura's redline is around 8400rpm(its peak is at 7400rpm) where as my Stang's is well below that.

Long story short......you win.

I just want to speak from experience. My mother has a 2003 accord EX-L with the 240hp v6 and 5speed automatic. That thing will haul from a dead stop, but it highly picks up on the top end. I've outran a 91 lx 5.0 5-speed with a few mods.

I know a guy who regularly outruns stock Acura RSX-S with his stock Accord V-6. I know that the Acura RSX-S stock time is 14.9(with a good driver), so the Accord is faster than that...don't know the exact time.

I know they're not speed demons, but if there was a bigger aftermarket for the Accord it'd be interesting to see some of those 1/4 mile times.

Oh.........and why were you racing your mom's car?

j/k I've done the same thing.

Not trying to pick a fight, but right now Honda has a 255hp V-6 Hybrid Accord....although it's only offered in a 4dr auto.

But can you imagine a 255 hp V-6 Hybrid Coupe with a 6 spd manual tranny. Then imagine guys doing weight reduction on them....that'd be a pretty neat car. Now that would be a sleeper....getting beat by a Hybrid.

I dont think it's a Hybrid. It gets 21/30 EPA MPG according to edmunds, com, and it is a 6spd manual. Not sure what kind of times it's running but it wouldn't surprise me to see a mid 14, if not faster. Car just has no torque, for the amount of horsepower it has. I'd rather have a Maxima, or the new SE-R Altima, if i wanted to go the accord type route. Just a lil bit more money.

that new lexus is almost a beast...

all it needs is more torque and it'd be a very popular street racing car

Yeah the new is350 is a monster, but for 35k?? ill pass. Not for street racing... not in my opinion. Go a lot faster for the same money. yeah it only has 277lb ft of tor, and its a lil over 3500 lbs... ehh..

I think you misunderstood me. There is a 240hp V6 Accord that has an available 6spd transmission.

I was mentioning that Honda now has a 255hp V6 Accord Hybrid. At this point the Hybrid is only an auto 4dr. It was more of a "what if" statement.

See my above post......it was a "what-if" statement.

The Accord Coupe/Sedan has a optional 240hp V6 6MT.

The Hybrid Sedan is a 255hp V6 Auto....."what if" it was a coupe and given a 6MT.
