Hi everyone,

I purchased my first Mustang this past weekend, a black 04 GT. I am loving the car but have a question about changing the grill. I prefer the look of the "free" pony in the Mach 1 and Cobra grill. Is the swap a simple or expensive one and is there someone other than the dealer that you would recommend I talk with? Thanks in advance and sorry if this has been brought up before.

I've got a question about this too - also have an 04 GT. I'd like to fit the grill delete kit. I noticed CDC has a kit that's priced much higher than the other typical Mach 1 delete kit. As near as I can tell (from the available pics), the only difference appears to be an extra support piece that I gather sits back into the front end and is largely unseen? What's the drill here? What's the function of this extra piece (in the CDC kit)? Is it something that's already behind the grill on my GT? Does it provide some extra "finishing" purpose, or extra support? I don't mind paying the extra if it is something that really finishes the kit off, but OTOH I don't want to pay for something that may already be sitting nearly invisible behind my existing GT grill. I take it the rest of the "kit" is pretty much the same from one brand to the next - that is it includes a new pony, small pony support bracket and cover piece that sits on the front facia.
Any additional info available?
Thanks, Jeff

Not sure what the extra piece is for.Mine works fine and looks great without that extra piece you mention.

Hmmm.... let's see if this will work:

The piece I'm referring to is the one that looks like some kind of mounting frame, behind the facia trim. Any ideas what it's for?

Not sure, mine came with just the bottom part and the pony.It was all that is needed. My local club has the same kit installed on their Stangs with just the 2 pieces.Maybe someone else knows what it's for. I can't imagine there's much of a function for it.

That was my kit I purchased from carolina mustang, I'm sure they are about the same, only thing I suggest is going to autozone and buying a few of those plastic screws your gonna break taking the old one off first
