I have a 1999 GT, and as you know my hood doesnt have the fake scoope the 01+'s have. I was thinking of buy one of those and painting it, but i was just wondering if any of you have seen or heard of any functional ones. If you have let me know cause i think that would be slightly cooler then the fake one. Thanks

I made the scoop on my '01 GT functional by taking the scoop off, citting out the area on the hood where your fake scoop is, then drilling out 2 rows of holes in the black panel that goes on the front of the scoop. I think there were 4 or 5 rows, leave the bottom row and the top row. You'll also have to cut a hole out of the under hood insulation. Now grant you, my car had a C&L mass air unit with an open conical filter. I did notice an improvement in performance and gas mileage. Good luck.
