I ordered a set of BBK equal length short headers for the 02 this week. Now I've noticed several bad experiences and no mention of good ones on a few other forums. There's been a lot of fit, leaks, missing parts, and broken parts. Should I just send them back and get a set of unequal short from JBA?

I havent had experience with the equal length shorties for a 4.6, but i've always heard good things about their headers in general. Also always heard great things about JBA

Had bbk unequal length shorties for my 95.
If you put a flat edge on thepasenger side you could see the flange curve towards the back.
Insatlled hoping that with the gasket and flange tourqued down it would be okay.
Wrong leaked at the back.
Exchanged for new set and had a bad weld that leaked near the collector.
Third set worked fine.
Also bought an H pipe at the same time.
It was the biggest POS ever.
Fit stinked and cats went after 1 month they literaly broke apart and sounded like marbles rolling around.
This was on a 50k mile car with no other mods then a K&n filter.
Was always maintained and had 0 problems.
