im looking to start modding my 2000 coupe and was wondering what would be better, new magnaflow mufflers or DMH Performance cutouts. i want to be able to control the volume so i guess im just wondering how they sound on mustangs. i dont want it to have a loud 'i cant afford a new muffler' tone to it. just wondering if itd be a good idea..

thanks

Personally, I wouldnt run cut-outs on a 4.6L. I dont think the motor is gonna produce that awesome big block sound that 302 based stangs and LT1/LS1 f-bodies get. I havent done it myself however so I can't say for sure. Personally, stick with a good catback and I cant see you getting much more gain having a cutout.

I had a 96 gt. It didnt have cutout exactly but instead the mufflers had been removed and straight pipe put in its place (basically the same things as cutouts). It sounded like TOTAL crap, and the loss of back pressure actually killed the power in the car. Unless you are gonna run some monster setup, ie a large blower or turbo, dont go with cutouts, the 4.6 needs the back pressure.
