This is on the car I just bought that is in awsome shape except for a few quarks I'm working out. This is one of them.

The dome light shuts off when the key is not in the ignition and the doors close, but if the key is in the ignition, the light is always on.

Before you blame me for being a blonde, I've messed with the headlight switch. All the way left clicks, and that's what the domelights on is supposed to be, but it makes no difference.

It's the middle bulb that looks like a fuse that's being a problem.

My solution was to take the bulb out, but that's only temporary.

Has anyone ever had this problem before? It's irritating the you know what out of me since I just paid a fortune for this car.

There was a Clifford Alarm installed but it isn't currently hooked up becaues the car was in storage. The only other electrical work that the previous owner let me know about was stereo modifications.

Plenty... I paid for mods too inluding suspension and a S/C and the low milage (10k).

I have a theory that I haven't had time to test yet...

The car has a boost guage on the front windshield pillar. The wiring may have been modified.

I miss my old car... but this one is actually in bette shape. I just have to get these quarks worked out.

i would check all the wiring that has been done to it for its mods, such as a stereo or guages that have been added, then go from their.

Check that none of the cables on the headlight switch are burned...it may be one of those. A while back one of them burned out on my car and the headlights and guage lights wouldnt work...so if i were you, just check that they arent burned.
