My wife drove home today from the gas station with the floor door shut but the cap was haging from the outside. As you guessed the gas pressure was showing the gauage on empty. Now as I expected the Check Egine Light is now stuck on. Is there anyway I can reset that without having to take the stang into Ford?

put the gas cap on and make sure it clicks 4 times, and it should reset itself in a few days, if its not right by the end of the week go to the dealer

Another alternative should be reseting the battery. If the check engine light does happen to come on again though, it might not be the gas pressure issue.

I agree with dfhurley. Unplug the negative battery cable from the battery for about 5min. Also touch the brake pedal breifly after the battery is unplugged to discharge any juice stored in the ECU. Then plug it up, reset your radio stations and watch for anymore signals.

I thought it was on to illuminate the dashboard (mine's been on for 8 months!!). If it starts to flash, that's a real problem, right?

Unplugged the battery pumped the brake and waited about 10 mins. Fired up the stang and was good to go. All my stations were saved and so far 3 days later no CEL.
