44000 i have the magazines from MM&FF of all the 95 R stuff, testing and all, they got 12.90s out of it without a front sway bar
I was thinking they were like $35000, but could have been $45000
I'll have to look when I get home.

Well considering the price of a cobra coupe was $21,500 (approx). Ithink 35k sounds about right. I could be wrong though

i'd love a 95 R. i actually like it better than the 00 R. its my all time favorit production SN95

although i think it would have been better if he left off the radio and AC and such. when you have a 5.8L v8, all you need is to crank down those windows. this sovles tha AC and stereo problem

i hope to build my onw one (clone) someday. i'd start with a cobra and work my way up. the reason id want a clone is cuz i wanna modd the crap out of it, and no way in heck i'd do that to an original 95 R.

somewhere over the rainbow......

Oooooohhhh....5.8L. What more is there to say?

By the way Doug, the '00 was a 2 cam, with 4 valves per head, not a 4 cam.
uhh, it had a navigator based motor 5.4 DOHC 4 valve, see pic

[/b][/quote]

Requests for a larger engine were granted, with the 1995 offering a 300-hp 5.8L V-8.

Straight from this great website I found called www.themustangsource.com

what? the 93 R had a 5.0HO and the 95 had a 5.8 and the 00 had a 5.4 DOHC 4 valve

the Cobra r had a larger engine so it could compete with LS1s in SCCA

300 hp really doesn't seem like that much considering the 96 Cobra's put out 305 hp just one year later. Now I'm sure the R had more torque but still it seems underpowered for the engine it had. Just my .02

R had ALOT more low end torqyue and power, as 4.6 DOHC didnt come alive till around 5-6k rpm. The 03-04 cobras were different because the twin screw boosted low end performance

What was the 95 R motor (I know it was a 351 but,) was it the lightning motor with a different cam??? It seemed to me the 351 in the R had GT40 heads with a Cobra intake.
