Car Idles Low...
Ok,
well things havent improved, rather they seem to be getting worse. Now the car will idle a notch above 500rpms and really wants to shut itself off. Although it hasnt yet surprisingly. So far, we have replaced the IAC and decided to replace the MAF sensor since it wasn't giving us any signals on the voltimeter. Well now the engine is running rougher, the idle is low, the hesitation during acceleration in higher speeds is much more noticable and to top it all off, now it is having issues with starting. It just doesnt want to crank but eventually does. That usually happens when its been sitting for awhile.
If I wasn't still paying on the car, I would just get rid of it and buy a new mustang :\ Maybe I should take it to the Ford Dealer and see what they will charge me an Arm and a Leg for.
speaking to one of my buds, he said I hsould check out the Throttle Positioning sensor. I think I'll check that out too.

did you have the codes checked??? sounds like it could be a bad O2 sensor. probably different then my 86 GT. but it would surge and try to cut off when i started it up or put it into gear(auto). my car didnt even show a check engine light. i took it to my friend and he pulled the codes. it was for a faulty O2 sensor. also try the throttle sensor. that went bad on my 92 and caused an irratic low idle. b/c it wasnt sending the info to the compter for idle which causes the computer to hunt for the correct idle speed like scott said
