Can I make this work?

So, I've got a chance to get a 2014 SC 5.8l 4v with a tr6060 for a great deal and I'm wondering if I can get it in my '99 GT. Is it possible?

Of course it's possible. Putting a space shuttle booster rocket in your Mustang is possible if you have the money... The question is what is the budget?

I guess I should've phrased that differently. I know it will fit. My concern is really with what is involved with that kind of swap and if I'm going to have serious issues with getting the shifter linkage to line up properly, wiring harness issues, etc...

Having done a engine swap it is a huge drain on many things. Time, money, patience and parts. I installed a V8 in a S10 I once had. Trying to install something that was not originally made to go into a vehicle get really complicated. You now can no longer access items on the engine you once could. The biggest challenge is driveability with no check engine lights, gauges working properly is also going to be a challenge. I seen a guy on youtube bragging about his Coyote swap. He had wires running everywhere, removed his air bags and he could not get the door ajar buzzer to stop going off. If you do this my suggestion is research the poop out of the install, get the right parts and programming. Hope that helps. Personally I will never do this again.

It's not that complicated of a swap, I've done motor swaps before, just not in a Mustang.

The Coyote swap isn't a difficult one, and vendors are making parts (Headers, K-Members) specifically with that in mind.

Lets see

Im spitballing here

A 5.8 trinity is really a 5.4

And a 5.4 is in the family of a 4.6

Deck height obviously different

But is it that far of a stretch really

Obviously heads and manifolds different but the engine is complete

It's the wiring harness and the PCM or ECM or whatever

My 2000 R has a 5.4 in it so that's been done factory by ford as far as fitting and stuff
