Bulllit
could be a misprint, i saw it in one of the magazines. Hey, sorry for the confusion, does anyone think it is an altitude "corrected" time? (just came to mind)
i am looking for the link now, then i will post it. here is when they got a 12.7 outta a stock vert Cobra 12.7 Read the article
Sorry, i said 12.2, i meant 12.7 I mess up some times. The other mag ran a corrected 11.8 (didnt no this at the time) sorry. Still the vert will run 12s stock.

When the first GTs were hitting the streets around Christmas of 1993 with a whopping 215 hp, who would have envisioned that a decade later you'd be able to stroll into your local SVT dealer and buy a new Cobra (with a supercharger, no less) and run 12.40s at 113 right off the showroom floor without so much as a tire-pressure adjustment?
well, if you did see it in a magazine, i hope that magazine isnt printed anymore. see, when you research before you post, you dont come out sounding cocky and stupid. As for the vert hitting 12's, the one i raced couldnt, and she was on BFG drag radials. Im not saying it hasnt happend, but I havent actaully witnessed it. This summer I'll be getting a rematch with the 04 vert, and maybe she'll hit the 12 mark.
for a car to run 11's stock, 12s even, it has to be a very fast car, considering what you pay for corvettes, vipers, etc, for them to run high 11's and 12's is still very good. Not saying a cobra isnt fast, because it is, just saying that for a stock cobra to run that fast, ford would have to be taking a major loss. Sometimes facts get twisted around, ive done it before. Just a mistake that can be rectified. Also, no matter what your running, if its on street tires, it obviously isnt getting the times it should have. Put slicks on any car and guarenteed youll shave of the good part of a second.

How fast do you think your car will run if it hooks hard? like with a 1.40 short time? i am thinkin 11.5 or so. I like the cobras, some mags run the "correction" on their times such as altitude changes and such. I am sorry for the mistake.
Uh, as far as the original topic goes, it was a GT motor with the Cobra intake, suspension lowered 3/4 of an inch, Cobra brakes, and a specially tuned exhaust that had better air flow and was digitally tuned by the guys at Ford to sound like the original GT390 used in Bullitt. Those are the big differences anyways. It was a SOHC 2v design, the Mach 1 got the DOHC 4v.
This is a great site for the Bullitts:

i dont think a 1.4 60' time will put me in the 11.5 range. Thats a heck of a lot faster than 12.8. And Sccothew pointed out that I have a good chance of destroying my IRS if I go with slicks. I'm sure under ideal conditions, maybe on drag radials, its got a 12.5 in it though

I meant by hook up, use a drag suspension with a 9 inch 4.56 gears and a solid rear.
