What kind of motors were in the Bulllit mustangs? was it the 4.6 SOHC 2 valve or 4 valve DOHC? I ask this because MM&FF magazine had a shootout and it was bulllit vs. Mach 1. I found this unfair do to the motors and power levels. I am confused so any help would be great, thanks!

All of those cars in the shootouts were modded. And this is info you could find by looking on the site, not by starting a topic about it. The Bullit engine was basically the same as the GT engine, except for the Bullit intake. The Bullits suspension was worked over to make it hook and handle better. Try to remember that magic word from now on......SEARCH!

In reality it was more than a 5-hp boost. For one they were a little underrated, but mostly Ford changed the way they rated hp in 2001, and the standard GT would have been listed at less than 260. But Ford couldn't list the GT as having a horsepower drop, so engines that were already in production kept the horsepower ratings, and new engines (including Bullitt) were rated under the new system.

Are you talking flywheel or rear wheel HP....because '03 Cobras don't make 425 to the rear wheels in stock form. I've got a customer who in stock form made 367 to the wheels and with exhaust and a densecharger made 400 rear wheel HP

Carebear? lol, well thats a common mistake. Anyways, a lot of the stuff he posts is BS. ie: 03 cobras running 11's on stock tires. I hate to hear people spout off 'facts' that their just making up. and when someone posts 3 times inside of 2 minutes, it just seems like all they're trying to do is boost their post count. I try to post only when i have something to add to a post, not to "hear my own voice" so to speak. At svtperformance, they arent PG. Im not saying its a bad thing, I like the atmosphere at Brads, but if he would post the things that he posts here, on that forum, he would get torn a new one. I'm a young guy (19) and I'm assuming Fordracing200 is probably 15-16. There are many young people here (future9er24, mustangman) who make very good posts, often with good information. Anyway, I dont want to seem like a grumpy guy, but I just couldn't help myself. It was the cobra stuff that really bothered me, since I have a cobra and know what they're capable of. I hope I dont have to rant anymore, because I hate sounding like a bad guy. Hopefully this can all end in happiness, and goodness, like the 'carebears'.

I dont understand how you cant get an 11 out of your car cuz a 400hp car should definitly run 11s, people have done it stock. I know a few of them.I dont want to start anything...............

Now THIS is why I have to rant. You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. The best time MMFF ever did with a STOCK 03 coupe was 12.67 at 110.11 MPH, and vert was 12.99 @ 109.85 MPH. You have obviously never raced anything down the 1/4 mile. As for why I can't run an 11 on stock tires with my steeda cold air kit and basanni cat back, well I must be the worst driver ever. Seriously, I thought I had done well for my first time at the track. Since my car had 2 minor mods, I probably should have been running mid 10's. Get your facts straight, or do some research before you post total crap.

I was all ready to be nice and civil too, then you had to go push the 03 cobra button. :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang:
