Before I add a Mach 1 chin spoiler and maybe a few more things down the road I was wondering do these add ons depreciate the value of my car? I plan on keeping this one forever since it is my favorite Mustang as of yet. I just didn't know if I decided to take it to shows if the add ons would hurt or not.

i think it really depends on what you do with the car. if you keep it till it dies/or till you pass it on i nthe family then it doesnt really matter what you do to it. however addons can either hurt or help your cars value depending on who you sell it to. if i were to buy a 35th gt with a chin spoiler, full exhause from the headers back and say 3.73 gears i would consider it as worth more because i know mustangs. however if your trading it in why would a dealer pay you more? theyre going to give you book value-and also if you sell it to someone who doesnt know a suv from a corvette then it wont really help
so i think it depends....wash it wax it mod it and drive it....dont make the same mistake my father did and sell your hotrod, youll regret it later
(sold his 70 mach1 351 cleveland w/shaker) and bought a 4cyl 78 Mustang II) :bang:

Dealer value will go by condition and miles, private buyer value goes by mods and style and looks and all, mod it to your liking, no1 cares about value, thats why their mint condition cars have 100k plus miles, Socthew has 100k plus on his Mystic.

Great points guys! I don't plan on selling it at all. I would like to keep it forever and drive it on weekends and take it to shows. I just worry about originality, but then again I don't plan on putting a huge wing the size of 747's on it or anything. I love the wheels as is. My plans would be in the range of a Mach 1 chin spoiler and maybe a more aggressive exhaust, bigger throttle body, 3.73 gears and so on.... I need the $$$$ first though.

Anyone want to donate to a good cause?

ha ha, car insurance is a big rip off, if u dont drive it in the winter, classify it as a pleasure or leasure vehicle and it will go down because it is driven less

or just dont get speeding tickets and when you are older you can drive what you want. checked on insurance to add an 04 cobra to my policy. was going to cost me 70 more per month than i am paying right now but id say modify it to your liking. its not like you cars is an original boss 429. and even some modifications can increase the value more, as long as they dont take away from the overall car.

Thats true. I never thought of it that way. I just have to find out what mods I want to start off with. My goal would be 300 hp at the wheels and an equal amount of torque.

Okay, I've talked to my probation officer (my wife) and I am cleared to get a Mach 1 chin spoiler. Geez I thought when I turned 18 I could make decisions for myself, well that only lasted a few years now didn't it.
