Awful Gas Mileage
Since I did my head gasket swap I have been getting atrocious mileage. Is there any thing I could have done wrong on the reassembly that could cause me to be getting 15 MPG when I used to get between 18 and 21? I have been going super conservative on this tank and I'm still burning through gas much faster than I ever have before. My AC also stopped working. I doubt it is connected, but maybe it's dragging the engine? Help. :-(

Its possible if your compressor is locked up, then the motor could be working harder to turn the pulley on the compressor and that could be causing it. You might have a vacuum leak somewhere which could also be the culprit.

Quick way to check for a vacuum leak, is to spray wd40 around the mating surfaces. If you hear any change in the way the engine runs, in any certain place then you've narrowed your search.
