99 GT Mustang... Help With Performance
#1
Hello, i am in the process of purchasing a 99 GT Mustang and would like to trick it out performance wize, but keep the body style so that its a sleeper. I was thinking along the lines of JBA Headers, cold air intake, vortec super charger, flowmasters (unless you have other ideas like catback or something), and anything else you can think of. let me know what i should do performance wize from a performance chip to fuel injectors. Cant lower it a lot cause it will be driven in the snow. but i would like to have like P285's in the back and something like P235's in front. so its got a slant look. or something like that NITTO Tires im thinking. you guys here let me know im more into the muscle cars and dont know a whole lot about the newer cars and fords. i have been with chevys a lot. thanks for the help
Later on Im thinking i want to go with a saleen body kit and a SR Spoiler, but thats way later, i want performance first.
Below is my 96 3.8 Liter V6 only mods are K&N filter, flows and headers.

Nice boat... lol.
And, to be honest, what you have goin' sounds good, where you getting all this money? Is it just laying around? I wish I had enought to do all that!!
BTW - - That's a nice V6 you got there, I mean it looks good (exterior) wise for being in the snow!

im actually selling my 73 Nova for $13,000 and then purchasing a 99 GT for about 8k leaving me with close to 5k to spend on engine. if im correct a S/c is about 3,500 then i got 1,500 left 500 for exhaust another 500 for headers leaving me with 500. maybe a Chip or something then of course i work hehe so i got more money.

If you want a sleeper with about 360rwhp, talk to Tim Barth, owner of T&J performance out of Atlanta, he goes on most forums by the name of Cobra Killer. He has setup at least 100 GT's with an s-trim and tuned them and most put out about 360-380 rwhp. None to my knowledge have had engine related issues since as well.
http://www.modularfordpowerhouse.com is his website. He can point you in the right direction you wish to go with any mod you an imagine.

Flowmaster is good for sound, but doesn't do diddly for performance....do like most of these guys do and go with Magnaflow, Bassani, or Borla...may not be as loud (MAY NOT) but will give you more power. If you wanna go the forced induction route then there are PLENTY of options available. If I were into that I'd go with a KB Twin Screw because it looks more at home than having a huge snail looking thing in there.

mm yes, i like the question, what does a magna have that flows does not? sound means more to me then 10 HP though. sound gets the ladies and the looks, the 10 HP doesn't show much unless your a hardcore racer
