Well....

Tonight we decided to take the car for a little cruise to get food(about a 10 minute ride) car ran fine, left car ran fine. About 2 minutes later the car got HOT, shut the car down before it got crazy hot, ran and grabbed the trailer and towed it back to our shop. We checked the coolant and it was fine. Started the car to pull it in the garage and it's got a obvious knock, after closer look we got it narrowed to the valve train. Pulled the plugs, look fine, oil level/color look great. At this point(12:41am) we are calling it quits. It looks like we will drop the motor this week, pull the valve covers and see what/if anything is wrong, then pull the heads to see. Odds are the car will be down for the season at this point, unless he get lucky and it's a cheap/easy fix.

So, yea that's life I guess...moral is obviously down at this point.

Sorry about my grammar I am tired and on my phone.

We did, it was a lot of fun but we worked on it for a bit today, the turbo, hot side, manifold and got the wires undone.

We then headed out to be 24 year olds so do to the beach we will make no more progress.

The engine builder thinks it's either a bearing or the chain guides broke/melted. He told us not to take the motor apart but rather just bring it to him. So who knows, it'll be out of the car this week then we need to run it to Georgia to have it taken back down.

If bearings are bad the car will sit till the motor comes back with a new bottom end, block, stroker and a promod 88......

The motor will be out this week, after a long talk with the group the owner decided to see if we can fix the issue. If it's small we will replace and try and make this year, if we break into the motor and find out that we can't fix it(machine work, ect) the motor will go to Georgia.

Time will tell when we break into this mod motor.....

It's looking to be October as the new goal. None of us are pushing hard. Like I said we are all just being young and enjoying the summer, Dewey and being kids. It'll get done at some point

I had other commitments lastnight so I was unable to make it down to the shop we keep the cars in but the owner said the leak down and compression test looked normal, cut the filter and found some metal, nothing crazy.

His final diagnoses is a rod bearing, the motor is already out of the car. We will be getting a new crank, rods, ect.

So now time for a build thread within a build thread
