I'm amazed that those vents weren't cut out from the factory. Shame on you Ford.

I'm all set with that give me a 2011 GT500 please....... I think these late model collector cars are cool but thr market for this car shouldn't be this high. I kind of reminds me of the people paying $20,000 for the future "classic" 2007 GT500, now people are practically giving these things away. Dealers have brand new 2008 GT500s sitting next to 2011 models!
I understand that this car is a part of Mustang history but I know a family friend who bought a 1995 Cobra R for $38,000 and this car is even older than the 2000 and just as rare.

The rare factor is true, but look at the package you got in 95 compared to in 00. The 95 was a Cobra with Konis and a 351. Really the unique parts are just to fit that 351, and the fuel cell. In 00 it was made to look different, functional (for the most part...) and had a purposeful look to it. Look at the inside of a 95 R. It looks like it got the short straw on options to say the least. Then look inside the 00 R. It looks like it was built for the car it was. Just the shear number of pieces that went into the 00 R that were unique to its construction is mind boggling.
I'm not in any way trying to undercut the 95R, just saying I know which one I'd pick if I had the chance.

^^^ I do believe the FR500C/CJ/Cobra Jet/Boss 302R Mustangs take over the role of the Cobra R - which was meant to go racing. IMO, looking at the differences between the '93, '95, and '00 models, the Cobra R evolved into a less street-friendly version with every succeeding generation. More unique and purpose-built parts went into the last iteration compared to the previous two.
hmm, i guess the market is not as high as the owner of the car thought. this is his second time posting the car without meeting his reserve. The bidding is over just north of $50,000.

Well it wasn't long ago that the average 00R was pulling 50k. It doesn't surprise me at all that he wants more.
