Upgrades for reasonable prices?

I have a 2003 v6 and was wondering what mods were available to boost the look/power of it for reasonable prices. Anyone care to help?

Other than exhaust just to make it sound a little better, just make it look good. For the money it takes for it to compete with a GT might as well get a GT.

You can upgrade to the Steeda CAI that will get you some modest gains of up to 10-13 RWHP. It is pretty well priced and if you are looking to add some HP, it is defintily an option.

Take a look and let me know if you have any questions. This will provide the added HP you are looking for.

MosestheMustangs,

You can also look at upgrading your exhaust system. This piece will give you better sound and an additional HP.

Another great piece to add to your Mustang to get you the gains you are looking for. This is a great exhaust backed by a million mile warranty.

Thanks

Tj

CAI and exhaust for sure. with the exhaust i wouldnt buy an already made kit, theyre way over priced sometimes up to $600 when you can have one done for half or less. pick your tips, mufflers (with a V6 you might have to look around to see whats going to sound good) and take it too a muffler shop and tell them how you want it ran. had my f150 done like this, only cost me $150 give or take a few bucks.

as far as appearence what have you already done to the car?

Get some rims and lower it. Also if you get exhaust get the gt bumper or do the "dump" exhaust.

He has a boosted v8. He was able to gain that much. However a stock v6 will be lucky to see 10 HP out of one. I say save up for a v8. I've seen a lot of ppl modify a v6 trying to be fast and spending a lot of money. Only to get dissapointed when a stock gt leaves them....

Save your money and get the v8.. It will be noticeable gains for pretty much everything you do. And as far as I know the gas mileage is pretty much the same (stock).

I don't have the income for a full v8. I'm not going for anything fast, it just needs a little updating because it's almost ten years old. Cold air and maybe a throttle body is all I really need.

Throttle body is a waste of money. You will see 0 gains with it

Calm down man. I know about three other v6 owners who spent less than 60 dollars on a used one. No, it was no tune job, but all of them were a bit more peppy.

Placebo effect. Look buddy. I'm not mad. I'm a Ford technition. And I know BS when I see and hear it. And I can promise you a bigger throttle body on your stock engine will do Jack diddly squat...

You should get new spark plugs, flush the fuel system, new transmission fluid. That should be quality updating...
