Upgrade Help

I just bought my first Stang. 99 with auto and 3.8. I wanted to gain maybe 30 to 50 more ponies and get the V-8 growl. Everyone I talke= to says to swap out the heads put on dual crossover exhaust and add a power chip(?). Does this make sense ?

Like I say, I am not looking to set records, but would just like to be a little more impressive when I beat my Dad with his 3.8 in his taurus. Lol!

You will not see gains that great on a v6 with those mods. However your on the right line to gain some power. True duel exhaust, drop in air filter from K&N, and an SCT tuner will give a little bump in power. You can always make up for the power with a nice set of rear gears. You will not be able to get that v8 sounds because your not a v8 but you can make it louder depending on what mufflers you get. If you do go and get the duel exhaust then 99% of the people on here will tell you to get a gt rear end with the cut outs for the tips.

I'm not a 3.8 guy and only know what I read so if anyone else wants to jump in go right on ahead lol

Check out supersixmotorsports.com. They have a couple different power paks to start off with. Its possible to get a good amount of power, it just depends on what you want to spend.
