OK yall, im lookin at gettn a 00 v6 for a decent price for my g/f. but the trans is manual and i dont wanna teach her how to drive a stick (shes dangerous enough) so for the price im thinkin i'll swap out the 5 speed for the 4 speed OD auto. I found a trans for a good price, low miles, with a converter. What else is needed for this swap particular to this car? I know ill need the auto trans wiring harness, shifter, shifter cable, interior trim bezel, what else? Thanks yall - Roger

 

You'll have to swap ECU's as well.. but then you'll run into a problem with the PATS system. Im not sure how exactly to bypass that, or may have to go to a dealer to have them reprogram the new computer to work with that PATS.

You'll need the automatic ECU since the tranny is computer controlled.
