Hey im new here on the board. I have a 1996 ford mustang. 5 speed manual. It has about 110,000 miles on it. And the speedometer on it sometimes goes all the way around to the peg and gets stuck. It manages to get back around to normal. But sometimes it only works in high third gear and above. Other times you run it in high rpm's and it starts working just fine. Now i have heard that if your car battery is low the gauges go to the peg and reset. Now i could probably use a new battery but its not all the gauges its just the speedo. I dont know if i just have a bad speedometer cable or if it is something else. All replies are welcome. Thanks for the help

This happens to me too....but I back off the gas and it returns to normal...
